Alex Kent

Alex KentAfter Cambridge, Alex was recruited by the Secret Intelligence Service to make the world a more cheerful place and has just returned from a mission in Montenegro to monitor beverage quality at the Hotel Splendid. He is current working undercover as Assistant Editor of The Cartographic Journal and a PhD student at Christ Church University, Canterbury, where he's researching aesthetics, style and identity in European topographic maps. Previous covers have been Lecturer in Remote Sensing and GIS at Oxford Brookes University, a Geo-Information Consultant and a freelance cartographer. When he's not helping the spatially-challenged, Alex sings in a madrigal group in Oxford and listens to Beethoven, but not always at the same time.

Ben Rogers

Ben RogersBen started singing in the Kent County Junior Choir in 1989 aged 10. He progressed to the Kent Youth Singers in 1994 when his voice broke and joined the Kent Youth Choir in 1998. Ben has also sung in the Kent Youth Barbershop. He left the County choirs in 2004 after 15 years service and joined the Knole singers in 2005. Ben attended school in Canterbury and graduated with a degree in Theology from Oxford University in 2001. Since then, he has been working within the buying function of the John Lewis Partnership. He is currently the Assistant Buyer for Sports Equipment. Ben enjoys playing rugby on a weekly basis for Medway rugby club as well as singing and playing the guitar (badly)! Ben married Becky in December 2004, the pair having met through the Kent County Youth Choir. They were delighted to have the Knole Singers perform at their wedding ceremony.

Dan Hester

Dan HesterDan is currently working on his PhD at the University of East Anglia (on American nation-building since the Cold War). As well as being a part of the Knole Singers, he is also involved in several choirs in Norwich. Dan likes travelling, cats, paintings by Escher and the word "nascent".

Dave Manning

Dave ManningDavid has been singing with Knole Singers since it was formed in 2000. In his spare time, besides singing, David pursues research interests in music, focused mainly on Ralph Vaughan Williams. He edited Vaughan Williams on Music, an anthology of the composer's writings published by Oxford University Press.

Martin Seaton

Martin SeatonMartin lives in an underground bunker below a rugby pitch on the outskirts of Bristol. He works for a secret organisation as an alien aircraft identifier, and has a collection of telescopes and 'space artefacts'. Martin is in charge of the Knole Singers, imposing a regime of fear and terror. He has been the 'outgoing chairman' for about 3 years now. Martin has neglected to send in a biography for the Knole Singers website.

Matt Wood

Matt WoodMatt, born and bred in Broadstairs now lives and works in Surrey. He is the Assistant Director of Music at Reigate Grammar School.
